The Mosaic Zinnia Design

This Zinnia is one of the 12 designs I've created as a template set for the students in my Online Stained Glass Mosaic Flower Workshop

The class is open to all levels.  No prerequisites.  It comes with a list of needed materials and tools.

 

Once the student complete the course, the students, not only have one or a few finished mosaic flowers to proudly display at home but most importantly they have gained the knowledge of basic stained glass mosaic techniques which allow them to continue creating mosaics at home.

Online Owl Class

Below you can see some of the process photos of one of the first owl designs Kasia developed and created for this workshop.  Each of the owl patterns in the class has been first hand sketched by Kasia and then converted into a clean template that students can download through the class website. Eight owl templates are included in the class for the students to use.

Below are two examples of the updated, slight simplified/altered version of the the beloved "Professor Plum" pattern from above.  The new version of the design is more doable for the beginner students in the Online Owl Class.

The class teaches students how to cut all the glass in each owl design. Above you can see all the shapes you can learn to create. This id done with just the basic hand tools, no wet-saws or grinders.

Grouting mosaics for both indoor and outdoor projects is shown.

Besides precision cutting, other pattern making methods for mosaics are covered in the class. For example the above owl has an added broken glass pattern to fill some of the shapes. This is a great option for beginners.

First you can see the mosaic after it was glued, followed by a grouting shot shot and a close up of the finished piece.

Here you can see all the petals cut and arranged, followed a shot of the glued mosaic before grouting and framing.

Here you can see the progress on the background, followed by a grouting shot which shows a piece of the custom made frame which all the flowers get.

An Owl Design for the Online Class

In the Online Mosaic Owl Class students can choose between 8 unique owl designs to create. They can make one owl and learn the basics of stained glass mosaics or dive deep into the class by create all eight owls and even adding attractive background patterns and even borders as seen above.
